Meet me on the balcony

Much of my coaching is spent helping clients gain an elevated perspective of a situation, “stepping out of the parade and up onto the balcony”, to see expanded possibilities.  The image of “getting on the balcony” can be a powerful way of gaining new perspectives; of seeing situations from different vantage points, and thus widening the aperture on possibilities that can be seen within those situations.

New perspectives and seeing more possibilities leads to making more effective choices.  More effective choices leads to getting better results.

(new) Perspectives –> (effective) Choices –> (better) Results

The right framework or leadership tool can also help accelerate our development by increasing our confidence when facing first-time situations, or helping us get unstuck when we’re unsure how to move forward.  Thus, in addition to traditional coaching techniques of inquiry and self-discovery, I also share relevant resources in the form of tools, techniques, articles, videos and concepts on leadership and personal growth with my clients.

Becoming a more impactful and influential leader, however, takes more than merely acquiring new information/skills or strategies… it is first and foremost an inner journey of learning and growth.

Between stimulus and response there is a space.  In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”  Viktor Frankl, author Man’s Search for Meaning

Stepping into that space and being able to observe ourselves (our thoughts, motivations, assumptions, behaviors) and make more insightful choices (in our actions, behaviors, and conversations), is an absolute superpower.  One that can help us effectively navigate challenges in work, relationships and in life.  This also becomes easier to do “from the balcony”.

Meet me on the balcony and let’s expand what you can “see” and therefore achieve.
